Very knowledgeable and reserved, Katja sometimes comes across as being aloof or arrogant even when she really doesn't mean to. When someone is asking her a question about a topic she's knowledgeable about she may give them way more information than they need, even if she feels like every word is imperative information. She becomes incredibly irritated at lazy people, especially students and Camron. However, it's really easy to get on her good side, you just need to let her babble about her latest fascinations often. She's fiercely loyal to Camron even if he drives her bonkers since he (sorta) saved her life. Camron is a lazy and lackadaisical dullahan, sometimes even unwilling to get up in the morning. However, when called upon, he can be serious enough to do whatever needs done; though don't expect any overachieving! Laziness aside, he's a bit of a cheery goofball, and tends to fancy himself a bit of a practical joker, loving to play pranks on pretty much anyone who crosses his path, though rarely with malicious intent. In spite of this cheery facade, he is loath to let anyone truly get close, using said cheeriness to keep all but his closest companion, Katja, at arms length.History:
Back when Ireland was still known as Eriu, Camron would ride the emerald hills of his homeland, doing as his kind did; calling the names of the soon-to-die, forewarning those who listened to set their affairs in order, as their demise was close at hand. During one such ride, the horse beneath him was spooked, and the great beast bucked him. Lying there in the road, he contemplated the source of his mount's fear, until another thought flashed in his mind; his horse had run off with his head! Try as he might, he was never able to find his head nor horse after that evening, and, as the years wore on, his memories started to chip away. In a panic, he searched with greater fervor, failing still. In a last-ditch effort to preserve what was left of his memories as well as his sanity, he took the head of one of those whose name he'd called... the head of a girl named Katja. Binding their psyches together with his fae magic, he successfully managed to preserve the remainder of himself (and even restore a fraction of what he lost,) as well as obtaining a companion, to make the drudgery his calling had become more bearable. Though a part of him still longs to find his head, and yet another part of him wants to provide Katja with a body of her own, he refuses to dwell on those things too much, accepting that they'll happen when they do, if ever.
As time wore on, the number of dullahan dwindled, though this was no great concern since dullahan weren't inherently social fae. It simply meant that they had to travel farther and call more names. As Cameron and Katja heeded the summons of death, they came upon a dark castle that had been made a school, where one could practically see the names etched in the very stones of the buildings. Figuring they would be at this place for an extended stay, they searched for methods to keep them 'close to the action,' as it were, and their search turned up an opening as a teacher at this school... as the Medicine teacher. Figuring that would be a way for them to achieve all their purposes in one fell swoop, they applied for the position....
Misc. Information:
+ While Katja is able to communicate through speech, Camron is able to 'broadcast' his thoughts in an 8ft area around him, essentially a one-way telepathic connection, with his 'voice' getting louder the closer someone is to him. Think of a Doppler effect for what it sounds like (this is why whistling is strange).
+ A faint black smoke emanates from Camron's neck and is a part of his biology, though he does still bleed and feel pain. However, Katja has no such smokiness.
+ Wounds heal faster than a human. For example; an inch long shallow knife wound may take a week or so for a human to heal, for K.C. it takes them a few minutes to an hour.
+ Camron has the ability to focus his 'voice' to make it louder for a certain person or group of people, with the range of his voice (distance and width) becoming more pointed (instead of being a circle/oval it becomes more like a triangle) as well as making it so that people who aren't within that group he is focusing on unable to hear his 'voice'.
+ Sometimes when Camron is asleep and dreaming, Katja can see his dreams, which means that she barely gets any deep sleep. Try having someone else's dreams invading your mind and get a restful night's sleep!
